Job description
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring solid understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Production Support & Operations
- Provide Level 2/3 support for mainframe applications (Automated Credit, Rewards, Credit Card Hub)
- Monitor production systems to ensure uptime and stability
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve failed batch jobs using JCL
Incident & Problem Management
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents
- Coordinate recovery and job restarts with Production Control
- Respond to business and application team requests
Technical Execution
- Work with mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, CA7, IDCAMS
- Utilize file management tools (File Manager, File Analyzer, EZTRIEV)
- Support messaging/integration tools such as MQ
Monitoring & Documentation
- Monitor applications using performance and observability tools
- Track incidents and updates in ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
- Maintain documentation for incidents, resolutions, and follow-up actions
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work in a follow-the-sun model with offshore teams (India)
- Participate in daily handoffs and coordination activities
- Support shared mailbox requests and application operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of Mainframe application production support experience
- Strong experience with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and job troubleshooting
- Experience working in high-volume, production-critical environments with incident managementPlusses:
- Experience with CA7, IDCAMS, and monitoring tools (Mainview, Dynatrace)
- Experience with MQ and application integrations
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience in financial services or credit card/rewards platforms
