Job description
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Production Support
- Provide Level 2/3 production support for Automated Credit, Rewards, and Credit Card Hub applications
- Monitor production systems to ensure uptime, performance, and stability
- Analyze and troubleshoot failed batch jobs using JCL
Incident & Problem Management
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents
- Coordinate job restarts and recovery with Production Control teams
- Respond to business user issues and application support requests
Technical Execution
- Work with mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, CA7, IDCAMS
- Support file management and analysis using File Manager, File Analyzer, EZTRIEV
- Support messaging systems including MQ
Monitoring & Documentation
- Use monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Mainview) to track system performance
- Manage incidents and documentation through ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
- Maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and follow-ups
Collaboration & Operations
- Work in a follow-the-sun support model with offshore teams (India)
- Participate in daily handoffs and coordination across regions
- Support shared application mailboxes and operational requests
Requirements
- 5+ years of Mainframe application production support experience
- Strong experience with JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and job troubleshooting
- Experience supporting high-volume, production-critical systemsPlusses:
- Experience with CA7, IDCAMS, and monitoring tools (Mainview, Dynatrace)
- Experience with MQ and enterprise messaging systems
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience in banking or financial services environments
