Job description
This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. What You Will Do
- Full lifecycle management of Real Time and post-mission telemetry data systems.
- Execute system sustainment and configuration management for Telemetry Systems operating on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8).
- Serve as the secondary Information Assurance (IA) System Administrator (SA), responsible for implementing and auditing system configuration changes in compliance with established security baselines.
- Manage the patching, vulnerability remediation, and version control for the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) and Telemetry (TM) Configurator software suites.
- Collaborate with current Telemetry Bit Stream Processing (TBSP) engineer to develop, compile, and deploy mission-specific decommutation software builds and Telemetry stream data flow architectures.
- Help design, support and operate advanced post-mission data processing and quantitative analysis algorithms.
- Assist with TM Systems Engineers to conduct comprehensive system-level verification and validation (V&V) testing to ensure telemetry systems meet or exceed all performance specifications.
- Perform advanced network diagnostics, protocol analysis, and latency troubleshooting across dedicated telemetry network segments to isolate and resolve connectivity issues.
- Function as the designated alternate operator for Kwajalein Missile Impact Scoring System (KMISS).
- Assume primary responsibility for the execution of quarterly KMISS cybersecurity updates, ensuring system compliance and operational readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or experience in lieu of education.
- Eight (8) or more years relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must be physically able to travel by boat/helicopter/plane to other work locations on a regular basis.
- Extensive experience with complex IT systems and architecture.
- Technical expertise in Telemetry stream analysis/decommutation, Antenna control systems, system administration, network engineering, and cybersecurity to ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of critical mission data infrastructure.
- Experience with GPS and NTP timing systems.
- Linux Scripting experience with Bash and/or Ruby.
- Python/Java/C programming experience.
- Experience with GIT and IT management systems such as JIRA and ServiceDesk.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, and other test equipment in analyzing and debugging electronic and RF systems per Telemetry RCC Irig standards.
- Experience with DISA STIG/RMF/DIACAP compliance.
- Experience building and deploying Ethernet and RF cabling.
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Ground Station Equipment, to include Antenna Control Units, TM protocol gateways/TM modernization systems.
- Experience with Linux RedHat system software and configurations.
- Experience with basic test equipment, spectrum analyzers, meters, scopes.
- Experience with documentation and reports, to include TM data analysis, CDRL updates, data flow diagrams.
- Security +, CYSA+, GICSP, or similar certification
