Job description

Organization 05196, Information Technology Services, is seeking a highly self-motivated and innovative Information Enterprise Systems Technologist with a background in information technology. The selected candidate will be responsible for partnering with other IT service providers and team members to ensure that appropriate IT solutions are delivered to meet business needs of the High Security Operations (HSO) users on upper-level LANs. They will also be responsible for remote and local user technical assistance, including hardware set up, software installs and problem-solving, installing, and uninstalling software, working in and managing ticket queues, working on small and full scope projects, supporting fielded equipment, providing support with deployed systems, performing systems¿ maintenance, coordination of Video Teleconferencing (VTC) meetings, connecting VTC meetings, and troubleshooting VTC equipment.

The successful candidate will research, assemble, and visualize various data sources used for conduct and identification of process improvement of the services provided by Information Technology Services Support staff.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Develop, install, test, administer, and document commercial off-the-shelf software
  • Support a wide range of computer hardware, including servers, file storage subsystems, peripherals and VTC equipment
  • Liaises with outside vendors and orders circuits and equipment, as required.
  • Work with other groups at Sandia to ensure proper network and cybersecurity integration
  • Understand technical specifications and dependency
  • Create, maintain, and integrate report visualizations from various systems
  • Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs
  • Research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding End User Support Services
  • Develops recommendations for the combined usage of data processing and telephone system hardware and software.
  • Recommend sound, practical solutions to sophisticated issues
  • Connect with customers, vendors, and other technical support staff
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions through reasoned application of information technology
  • Oversees ULL conference room remodels from conception to fruition

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite., The Field Intelligence Element (FIE) performs high-impact, national security work for a broad segment of the Intelligence Community (IC). As part of the FIE Operations team, the Information Technology Services department enables the reliable and timely delivery of secure IT products and services to satisfy the unique requirements of the IC. Our IT products and services include servers, virtual environments, desktops, networking, storage and applications., Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) SCI security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship. SCI access may also require a polygraph examination. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain these levels of access may be impacted.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Video conferencing systems operation?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Associates degree plus minimum of 3 years of experience in Computing End-User Support Environment. In lieu of a degree, high school diploma and 5 or more years of IT or relevant experience required.

  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools (e.g. Service Now, Ivanti Neurons).
  • Experience with Cisco and Crestron control panels. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including applications and operating systems.
  • Proven ability to define vision for conference room upgrades, develop project plans, coordinate with multiple vendors, and manage concurrent VTC projects to successful completion.
  • Active DOE Q-level (or DoD Top Secret equivalent) and active SCI-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
  • Understanding basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
  • Support and set-up of Videoconferences and Videoconference equipment.
  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Ability to promptly respond to high-pressure emergency ticketing incidents for VTC systems.
  • Prior working experience with Sandia infrastructure.
  • Have an active Security + certification .
  • Must be willing to take and pass a Polygraph, if necessary.
  • Must be familiar with telephony terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and nurture vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability working with OGAs and bridging connections.
  • Strong IT troubleshooting knowledge and expertise.
