Job description
The Principal Architect serves as a senior technical leader responsible for guiding enterprise architecture strategy and ensuring alignment across critical technology initiatives. This role drives innovation through hands on prototyping, establishes best practices, and partners closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, production ready solutions.
In this position, you will lead architectural design across cloud platforms, microservices, and emerging technologies while enabling teams to execute efficiently. You will influence enterprise standards, remove technical barriers, and ensure solutions balance governance, risk, and business value., * Lead technical strategy and deliver reference implementations, tooling, and reusable frameworks
- Build proofs of concept and prototypes to validate architecture and accelerate team delivery
- Partner with engineering teams on complex initiatives to unblock challenges and drive production outcomes
- Define and evolve enterprise architecture standards, templates, and best practices
- Guide adoption of modern application patterns including microservices, cloud native design, and observability
- Introduce new platform capabilities through structured pilots and scaled rollouts
- Contribute to governance policies that balance risk management with innovation and speed
- Collaborate across distributed teams and external partners to ensure alignment and delivery success
Requirements
- 10 plus years of experience in software architecture or large scale systems design
- 5 plus years of deep expertise in one or more critical domains such as cloud platforms, microservices, AI or machine learning, or data streaming
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies including C#, .NET, and SQL
- Proven expertise in Azure services including Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and managed services
- Experience designing cloud native and distributed systems using modern architectural patterns
- Familiarity with financial services environments and regulatory frameworks such as SOX, SOC2, or GLBA preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and lead cross functional initiatives
- Strong communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders
