Job description
A large retail company is looking for a talented Security Engineer to join our dynamic Information Security team. As one of the nation's leading retailers, we handle massive volumes of customer data, e-commerce transactions, point-of-sale systems, supply chain networks, and cloud-based infrastructure. We're seeking a proactive Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls that protect our digital assets, ensure compliance, and defend against evolving cyber threats in a fast-paced retail environment. In this hands-on position, you'll play a key role in safeguarding our IT ecosystem-including on-premises systems, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), web applications, payment processing platforms, and internal networks-while supporting our mission to deliver secure, seamless shopping experiences for millions of customers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a Security Engineer or similar technical role.
Strong hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., Splunk/ELK, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel, Burp Suite, Qualys, or similar).
Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for security tasks.
Solid understanding of networking protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), container security, and modern authentication methods (OAuth, SAML, MFA).
Experience with retail or e-commerce environments is highly desirable (e.g., protecting payment card data, securing web-facing applications, or handling high-volume transactional systems).
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+, CCSP, or GIAC are preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
