Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Cyber Security & Network Engineer to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who enjoys working across multiple technologies, customer environments, and security platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
You will work with a diverse client base and gain exposure to cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies, cloud platforms, virtualization, compliance initiatives, and managed security services.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Security
- Perform cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, attack simulations, and threat hunting activities.
- Deploy and support cybersecurity solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Configure and maintain security technologies including:
- Next-Generation Firewalls
- IDS/IPS Platforms
- Vulnerability Management Solutions
- Threat Intelligence Platforms
- Content Disarm & Reconstruction (CDR) Solutions
- Participate in SOC operations and SIEM integrations.
- Support security monitoring, incident response, and remediation efforts.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging cybersecurity technologies.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Deploy and support cloud-based security solutions within AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain VMware environments including:
- ESXi
- VMware Horizon
- High Availability Clusters
- Develop and support disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Install, configure, and support Linux-based systems.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Strengthen client security posture and support compliance initiatives including:
- HIPAA
- PCI-DSS
- NERC CIP
- ISO 27001
- ISO 9001
- CMMC
- Assist with security audits, documentation, and remediation activities.
Managed Services
- Monitor, maintain, and support customer networks, systems, and cybersecurity solutions in MSP/MSSP environments.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and security-related issues while ensuring high service availability.
Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and network engineering.
- Experience securing both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, routing, switching, and security best practices.
- Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience installing and supporting VMware ESXi environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- SOC Analyst experience.
- Experience working in ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 regulated environments.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- MSP or MSSP experience.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and risk management methodologies.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting critical infrastructure or industrial control systems.
Preferred Certifications
One or more of the following certifications is highly desirable:
- CCNA
- CEH
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Sophos Engineer or Sophos Architect Certification
- Security+
- CISSP (preferred but not required)
