Job description
We are hiring an AI Full-Stack Engineer to build the software stack around our next product including the patient-facing app, the cloud infrastructure that connects app, hardware, and backend, and the high-level software running on the instrument itself that sits above the firmware. This is a job for someone who is nimble across a wide range of software situations and is a truly full-stack software role. You move between layers without losing speed or quality. Alongside our product, you will also develop much of the internal infrastructure that the rest of the company runs on - tools for data analysis, manufacturing systems, quality and documentation pipelines. You collaborate closely with scientists, manufacturing teams and other engineers to ensure the system meets their day to day needs. Most of your week is product. A meaningful slice of it is internal infrastructure. Both matter., * Build the patient-facing app. The surface customers actually use - reliable, fast, and good to use.
- Build the cloud. The infrastructure that ties together app, instrument, and backend services. Data flows, APIs, auth, the connective tissue of the product.
- Write the high-level instrument software. The layer above firmware that handles workflows, communication with the cloud, and the logic that turns a running instrument into a useful product.
- Move between layers without losing momentum. App today, cloud tomorrow, instrument the day after. Nimble across the stack is the job.
- Collaborate with assay developers, chip designers, the optical team, and manufacturing. Many of them have built prototype software that needs to be adapted, used, or built upon. You are the person who makes that productive.
- Build internal infrastructure. Data analysis tooling, manufacturing systems, quality and documentation pipelines - the platforms that let the rest of the company move faster.
- Own work end-to-end. From a fuzzy request to a deployed system to the monitoring that tells you whether it is actually working.
- Push AI further into how we build. And into what our product can do for the people using it.
Requirements
- BS in CS, EE, or equivalent. US work authorization. Occasional travel., * Strong fundamentals - you came up in a team that took software seriously, and it shows in how you design, test, and ship.
- Fluent with the modern stack and aware of what is current: TypeScript/Python, React/Next.js or equivalent, Postgres, AWS (or GCP/Azure), containers, infrastructure-as-code.
- Architectural intuition - you know when something needs a queue, when it needs a database, when it needs nothing at all, and you pick well under pressure.
- A portfolio of things you have actually built and shipped - side projects, open source, and production systems.
- Active, fluent use of AI coding tools every day, and the fundamentals to verify what they produce.
- Problem-solver instinct - when something breaks in a way that should not be possible, you take it personally and find out why.
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines - you can sit with an assay developer or an optical engineer and figure out the right software answer together.
- A quality bar that does not bend - you ship work you would be proud to put your name on.
Preferred Skills
- Mobile app experience (iOS, Android, React Native).
- Cloud architecture experience on AWS or equivalent, beyond just using it.
- Built software that talks to physical instruments, IoT devices, or hardware-adjacent systems.
- Data engineering - pipelines, warehouses, BI surfaces that real humans use.
- CI/CD, observability, and test automation experience.
- Worked in regulated environments (medical, finance, etc.) and know how to ship fast inside a quality system.
- Hands-on with LLM application development - RAG, agents, evals, prompt infrastructure.

A Few Questions We Will Ask
- Walk us through a product feature you shipped end-to-end - app, backend, or cloud. What did you own, and what would you do differently now?
- Tell us about a time you moved between very different parts of a stack on the same project. How did you keep quality up while staying fast?
- How are you using AI in your workflow today? Where does it help, and where does it actively hurt? What is the most useful thing you have figured out about it that we probably do not know?
- Tell us about a problem that should not have been possible to debug, and how you debugged it.
