The Agile Product Owner is responsible for acting as a member of the Agile leadership team and is the functional and/or client (or business) representative for a project or set of projects within a market-focus.
How you will make an impact:
- Act as a member of the Agile leadership team and is the functional and/or client (or business) representative for a project or set of projects within a market focus.
- Translate features into user stories within a team's backlog and manage ranking and prioritize this backlog so that it is reflective of stakeholder requirements and priorities.
- Effectively communicate stakeholders' need to the Agile team to ensure delivery meets both contractual requirements and established acceptance criteria including expected quality and performance, and to complete various work management activities according to defined service level commitments and process compliance guidelines.
- Collaborate with team(s) to discover and deliver the best solution to the market problem(s) presented by the Product Manager (business).
- Work with the Product Managers to understand, rank, and prioritize business needs and plan solutions to ensure that each release provides business value to end users, sales, and marketing.
- Maintain the implementation cadence regularly aligned with the solution vision roadmap and backlog of work through the project's life cycle.
- Understand how to write user stories and their acceptance criteria. Translate the product backlog into user stories.
- Review and accept/reject results both during a Sprint and in the Sprint review.
- Attends Sprint meetings and is available to the team during the Sprint for clarifications and acceptance of user stories.
- Input into a project's release plan into a project's release plan.
- Present work to team from Team Backlog during Sprint Planning for acceptance by the Team, Sprint negotiates, and Sprint goals.
Requirements
Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 3 years experience with writing business/functional requirements and experience implementing Agile methodologies; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background., * Leading SAFe (SA) certification, CSPO or equivalent (Certified Scrum Product Owner) and/or SPO/PM (SAFE Product Owner/Product Manager).
- Experience delivering products in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience in healthcare domain (preferred), including regulatory or data-sensitive environments.
- Proven track record of working closely with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, and Development Teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, especially SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), expertise in writing clear, concise user stories and defining acceptance criteria, experience in managing and prioritizing product backlogs, ability to translate features into technical deliverables
- Ability to leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar to improve productivity, documentation, and workflow efficiency
- Strong understanding of data ecosystems, including:
- Data ingestion pipelines.
- Data transformation processes.
- Data egress / integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with APIs, data workflows, and system integrations.
- Skilled in working with technical teams on architecture-level discussions.
