Job description
We are looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to strengthen a Cloud Center focused on governance, compliance and automation within a large-scale Azure environment.
You will play a key role in shaping and enforcing Azure policies, improving infrastructure standardisation and driving CI/CD maturity across multiple delivery teams. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong focus on Azure Policy, DevOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. The assignment offers a long-term engagement within a complex, regulated enterprise environment with high impact on platform stability and compliance.
About the role In this position you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Azure governance capabilities across the platform. Your work will focus on ensuring consistency, security and compliance through policy-driven automation and standardised deployments.
You will:
- Design, configure and maintain Azure Policies and Initiatives to enforce security and compliance standards across the cloud environment
- Monitor policy compliance and support remediation activities in collaboration with delivery teams
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines to support CI/CD and configuration-as-code practices
- Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code templates using ARM and Bicep to standardise deployments
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and reliability
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers and delivery teams to align with platform governance standards
- Support testing, validation and deployment of policies and infrastructure templates into production
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across internal engineering teams
Requirements
- Strong experience in Azure engineering with a focus on infrastructure automation and governance
- Deep understanding of Azure Policy, initiatives and compliance remediation processes
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and YAML-based CI/CD pipeline development
- Proficient in ARM templates and Bicep for infrastructure-as-code
- Strong PowerShell skills for automation and operational scripting
- Understanding of CI/CD principles, Git workflows and version control practices
- Experience with monitoring and security tooling such as Azure Monitor and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Knowledge of enterprise networking and security architecture in Azure environments
- Experience in regulated environments is an advantage
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400 are preferred
