Role OverviewWe are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), DevOps, and Infrastructure Automation to join a large-scale cloud transformation programme within a leading financial services organisationThis opportunity is ideal for engineers with a solid foundation in cloud infrastructure who are looking to further develop their expertise within a modern enterprise cloud environment. You will work alongside experienced cloud and platform engineers, supporting the delivery, automation, and operation of cloud services that enable critical business and technology initiativesThe role offers exposure to enterprise-scale cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, and modern DevOps practices
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the deployment, configuration, and management of Google Cloud Platform services.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation initiatives.Assist in building secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions.Support platform operations, incident management, and service improvements.Develop automation scripts and tooling to improve operational efficiency.Work closely with Cloud Engineering, Platform, Security, and Development teams.Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement activities.Assist with cloud governance, security controls, and compliance requirements.Support production and non-production environment s.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience1-4 years of experience within Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).Practical exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform.Understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, and security fundamentals.Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tooling such as:GitHubGitHub ActionsJenkinsHarnessTerraform CloudExperience with scripting and automation using:PythonBashPowerShellGo (desirable)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abiliti es. Desirable SkillsExposure to Kubernetes and container technologies.Understanding of observability and monitoring platforms such as:DynatracePrometheusGrafanaGoogle Cloud MonitoringFamiliarity with Agile delivery methodologies.Exposure to financial services or regulated environments.Google Cloud certifications or active certification stud ies.
