help build our capability across our business as we continue to grow. * The Technical Product Owner is responsible for IT software and infrastructure products and applications, e.g. billing software, digital platforms, integration and flow management. * The Technical Product Owner will work in partnership with the technology and business teams at all times and is both a technical and people focused role. * The Technical Product Owner will work in conjunction with the business to develop a product strategy, vision, roadmap and backlog, that delivers business and customer value. * The Technical Product Owner will impact and manage the delivery of product changes including regulatory changes. * The Technical Product Owner will assure the health of the IT product through-out the product lifespan and continue to optimise the product performance. * The Technical Product Owner will translate business requirements into technical solutions to advise the business on suitable solutions and to guide the product team to deliver the best fit solutions. * The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for identifying innovative ideas to solve customer and business problems and be aware of emerging technologies. * The Technical Product owner will ensure successful adoption of new features and solutions by the business.

  • Work closely with the respective business managers to define the product vision, strategy & roadmap and identify ways to continually improve. Helping the business to understand how their desired outcomes will be delivered via IT change
  • Management of the product with a high level of autonomy that leads to the delivery of significant measurable value
  • Drive delivery and creation of business value by organizing effective and collaborative product teams. Mentoring and supporting the product team. Ensuring the product team understand the desired business outcome and how this links back to the product vision and goals
  • Build, prioritise and refine the backlog aligned to the product vision and adapt when required
  • Build a backlog that incorporates new features, fixes, continuous improvement tasks and removes technical debt
  • Assesses and plans the impact of wider business or IT projects on the product eg regulatory change
  • Demonstrate a good level of technical understanding within your product and understand how your product interacts with all areas of the business
  • Responsible for the overall delivery of the technical solution to the business problem ensuring solutions align to the service delivery and performance requirements and deliver agreed business outcomes
  • Apply lean practices while delivering value through iterative development i.e. Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and test & learn approach for the chosen product
  • Support the Product team to successfully adopt DevOps, supporting in the triage and resolution of incidents and collaborating with the Business, Engineering and Technical teams to ensure operational success, We are currently recruiting for a Technical Product Owner at nPower Business Solutions. In this role you will be responsible for IT products and applications, contributing to the development of a best-in-market digital customer and colleague experience. These are hybrid roles based at our Solihull office and are offered as 12-month secondment opportunities.

We are currently undergoing a transition and actively seeking individuals who can support us during this period. These leadership positions will play a crucial role in shaping our new operating model, which is focused on adopting a product-oriented approach.

nPower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON Industrial and Commercial (I&C) area of EON and a market leader in the energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c30,000 customers and approximately 250,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with business managers.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from idea to implementation ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Ensure incidents, maintenance, technical debt and root cause investigations are prioritised alongside new features.
  • Prioritise and refine product backlogs to deliver measurable customer value
  • Stay updated on technology trends and emerging technologies.
  • Build relationships with business stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to optimize delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for operational success.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Waterfall?, * Experience in Agile and/or waterfall environments delivering customer-led outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of backlog prioritisation and agile software development. - Awareness of technology trends and interest in emerging technologies.
  • Experience working with third-party IT suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems effectively.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, process modeling, and business case production.
  • Ability to translate technical details into business language.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills., * Product owner, Agile delivery, or DevOps certifications.
  • Experience in Retail, Financial Services, or Energy sectors.
  • Knowledge of Junifer (Gentrack Energy Customer Management Platform).
  • Experience in DevOps environment with CI/CD approach.
  • Experience managing customer facing products e.g. Digital / Customer Contact
