At Althaus Digital, an Ofsted OUTSTANDING digital training provider, we are committed to developing the next generation of digital leaders in Marketing, Data and IT. As a Digital Marketing, Data or IT Mentor, you will provide 1:1 coaching and mentoring to apprentices, guiding them to achieve their apprenticeship qualifications and become integral members of their workplace teams. Your role will focus on personalised support, progress monitoring, and occasional delivery cover, ensuring learners meet industry standards and excel in their End Point Assessments (EPAs). You will play a critical role in fostering learner success, maintaining high achievement rates, and building strong relationships with learners and employers., Mentoring and Coaching
- Deliver 1:1 Coaching: Provide tailored, high-quality coaching to apprentices in Digital Marketing, Data or IT, setting clear expectations, monitoring progress, and personalising support plans to ensure timely qualification achievement and career progression.
- Occasional Delivery Cover: Support the delivery of engaging workshops or training sessions when needed, using up-to-date materials aligned with learner needs and programme objectives (e.g., BCS, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or Digital Marketing frameworks).
- Facilitate Engagement: Regularly engage learners through physical and virtual workplace visits to maintain motivation, address barriers, and celebrate achievements to sustain morale.
- Proactive Risk Identification: Identify at-risk learners early and implement tailored interventions to prevent Breaks in Learning (BIL), Out of Funding (OOF), or withdrawals.
- Adapt Support Plans: Customise learner support plans to address individual needs, including those with additional learning needs, ensuring timely completion and progress.
- Functional Skills Support: Provide guidance to ensure functional skills are delivered and completed within 6 months, addressing pending results promptly.
- EPA Preparation: Deliver targeted guidance and support to prepare learners for EPAs, aiming for a 70% distinction rate.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Maintain Detailed Documentation: Log all learner interactions, interventions, and progress updates to ensure accountability and compliance with ESFA and Ofsted requirements.
- Ensure Curriculum Relevance: Provide feedback to keep the curriculum aligned with industry standards (e.g., Google Analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing) and learner needs.
- Compliance with Standards: Embed British Values, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety into all mentoring and coaching activities.
Performance & KPI Management
- Monitor Learner Progress: Conduct reviews every 4 weeks rotating between dual and tri party with Tri party reviews not exceeding every 8 weeks. Introduce more frequent reviews where required to track learner progress against milestones and KPIs, providing constructive, actionable feedback.
- Attendance Management: Monitor learner attendance weekly, address absences promptly, and maintain a 90%+ attendance rate.
- Core KPI Delivery: Support the achievement of key performance indicators
Stakeholder Engagement
- Employer Partnerships: Engage employers through regular communication and tri-party reviews, ensuring alignment with learner goals and 100% employer attendance at reviews.
- Pastoral Care: Provide comprehensive support to learners, addressing personal and professional challenges to ensure progression and well-being.
Resource Management
- Improve and Update Resources: Maintain and update teaching resources to meet developing needs, tailoring them to individual learner requirements and providing appropriate stretch and challenge.
- Professional Development: Continuously enhance your skills through training to stay aligned with evolving industry standards and effectively guide learners.
Core Mentor Duties
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 coaching and occasional group workshops, ensuring alignment with learner needs and programme objectives.
- Conduct regular progress reviews (weekly or bi-weekly) to track milestones and KPIs.
- Identify at-risk learners early and implement tailored interventions to prevent BIL, OOF, or withdrawals.
- Maintain accurate attendance registers
- Personalise learner support plans to address individual needs and challenges.
- Provide feedback to ensure curriculum relevance and industry alignment.
- Support learners in achieving functional skills within 6 months and preparing for EPAs with a focus on distinctions.
15 Non-Negotiables for Mentors:
- Set Clear Expectations with Learners: Communicate goals, expectations, and timelines for achievement throughout the programme.
- Proactive Risk Identification: Identify at-risk learners early and implement tailored interventions to support their progress. Maintain good relations with employers.

- Encourage Employer Involvement: Actively involve employers in tri-party reviews and seek their input to support learner development.
- Celebrate Milestones: Recognise and celebrate learner achievements, such as EPA distinctions or programme completions, to maintain motivation.
- Proactive Attendance Management: Monitor attendance weekly and address absences immediately to maintain a 90%+ rate.
- Adapt Support Plans: Customise learner support plans to address individual needs and challenges, ensuring timely completion and progress.
- Commit to Professional Development: Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through training to guide learners effectively and align with industry standards.
- Resources: Maintain and update resources to ensure they are current, relevant, and tailored to meet individual learner needs, providing appropriate stretch and challenge.
