Job description

We are seeking an innovative and technically proficient Startup Founder / Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development of a pioneering healthcare technology enterprise. This role involves strategic oversight of all technological aspects, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in systems engineering, network infrastructure, software development, and project management, with a passion for transforming healthcare through cutting-edge technology. This is a paid position suitable for a dynamic leader eager to shape the future of healthcare innovation., * Develop and execute the overall technological strategy aligned with business objectives, including system architecture, infrastructure, and product development.

  • Lead the design and implementation of network infrastructure such as LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, Cisco routers, and network security protocols in compliance with NIST standards.
  • Oversee application development processes utilizing languages such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, HTML, and frameworks like .NET; manage SDLC methodologies including Scrum and DevOps practices.
  • Manage cloud services and virtualisation platforms including AWS, Azure, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows Server environments, Citrix, and SAN storage solutions.
  • Ensure robust disaster recovery plans and information security measures are in place to protect sensitive healthcare data.
  • Supervise system administration tasks such as server management via IIS, DHCP, SCCM, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; provide technical support across IT support functions including help desk and desktop support.
  • Implement network engineering solutions using SolarWinds for monitoring and troubleshooting; manage network support activities involving TCP/IP protocols, TCP connections, LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Lead product management initiatives by integrating APIs for seamless healthcare data exchange; oversee software development projects ensuring adherence to SDLC standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation through leadership in project management tools like Microsoft Project and Jira; communicate technical strategies effectively to stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in health IT to continuously improve system performance and security.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, * Proven experience as a CTO or senior IT leader within a start-up environment specialising in healthcare or related fields.

  • Extensive knowledge of computer networking including LAN/WAN/VPN/firewall configurations; network security expertise is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure; familiarity with server management and virtualisation technologies like VMware vSphere is required.
  • Strong background in application development using JavaScript, Java, C#, Python; understanding of APIs integration within health systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects using Scrum methodologies; excellent organisational skills with experience in project management tools like Microsoft Project or Jira.
  • Deep understanding of information security standards (including NIST) and disaster recovery planning tailored to healthcare data compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including Docker containers and PowerShell scripting for automation purposes.
  • Excellent leadership abilities coupled with strong communication skills to effectively lead technical teams and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in IT or Systems Engineering are highly desirable; professional certifications such as CISSP or PMP will be considered an asset.
