Data Engineer

Government Commercial Agency has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the Data and Insights team. The role will require engagement with all levels of the business, and with key strategic external customers, to define requirements and embed best practise around data standards and the use of data. The role holder will be responsible for translating business needs into a robust and sustainable data architecture that leverages the full suite of technology solutions to provide intelligence to the organisation., * Strategy & Architecture: Delivering the data strategy, improving Data Architecture, and ensuring data models, Data Warehouse Structures, and API interfaces are robust and scalable.

• BI & Implementation: Supporting the implementation of third-party Business Intelligence solutions, establishing technical standards for interoperability, and having oversight of related projects.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Working with Data Infrastructure and Data Insights teams, as well as operational customers, to deliver "Business Intelligence as a service" with excellence. Successful candidates are expected to spend at least 26 days per quarter (approximately 2 days per week, pro-rata) at their contracted office, another GCA site, or off-site for meetings. For the remainder of the time, you may work from home or another suitable location that meets business needs.

• Understanding of the development and management of API integrations (Experience with Salesforce, Workday and bespoke solutions).
• Experience in delivering against defined business needs and implementing innovative solutions to meet those needs and ensure data quality is maintained and enriched.
• Experience in data model development and system design.

Desirable criteria (In the event of a high number of applications, the desirable criteria will be used as a second sift):

• Appreciation of the Business Intelligence marketplace and the capabilities of BI tools.
