Job description
The Sr Clinical Systems Validation Specialist will facilitate and support development, testing, and education for the clinical information systems. This position will serve as a technical resource for these projects. Consult clinical personnel as needed regarding clinical issues related to Clinical Information Systems. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining test scripts that ensure exhaustive testing of clinical information systems to ensure compliance with system specifications.

Tests and evaluates all new versions of the Clinical Information Systems before implementation at beta sites. Follow testing plan as designed.

Interpret user problems and suggest appropriate system change proposals to correct issues and to enhance system functionality and performance.

Executes functional, application, regression, and performance tests for new version releases.

Makes on-site visits to enhance beta testing on updated versions of the Clinical Information System. Annual review and update of the testing plan.

Performs and facilitates research and testing, provide overall project leadership to ensure hospital and Physician client interfaces conform to the client's HL7 standards.

Expedites all incoming questions/problems generated by the physicians regarding clinical information systems and facilitates resolutions.

Screens and prioritizes all requests and implements in an efficient and timely manner. Review and update all Q/A items in JIRA related to production open, current build and specific projects.

Collaborates with all departments to resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. Provides prompt, courteous, professional, and accurate information in all communications in dealing with physicians and other departments.

Demonstrates a commitment to department objectives through consistent patterns of work behavior and positive representation.

Responds to the department needs by accepting additional assignments, which may or may not be related to the jobâ s primary responsibilities to ensure the continuity of department services.

Responsible for following all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.

Stays current with HIPPA guidelines and ensures that the Clinical Information Systems are compliant with these guidelines.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including night shifts and on call rotations
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Effective prioritization skills and the ability to execute tasks high paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to multitask., â¢Bachelorâ s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. â¢3-5 years as a Quality Assurance Analyst or Product Support Analyst in a healthcare setting preferred.
â¢Experience with test planning, design and metrics, as well as working knowledge of product development cycle, testing process, and formal testing methodologies.
â¢Experience with EMR / EHR interfaces and implementation.
â¢Experience with HL7 interfaces.
Knowledge/Skills:
â¢Excellent analysis and trouble-shooting skills.
â¢Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to the specific needs as required.
â¢Some understanding of the NICU or Office Based setting and its functions is preferred.
â¢Proficient working knowledge of change management (defect, enhancement, new feature) tracking and source/version control systems.
â¢Ability to understand HL7 standards. â¢Familiarity with a commercial Integration Engine Product a plus.
Software:
â¢Experience in Microsoft Office, Email, and Windows. Working knowledge of quality assurance process and methodologies. â¢Some knowledge of Visual Basic, automated testing tools and relational databases such as SQL preferred.
