Job description
Ulteig is seeking a talented Solution Architect passionate about solving complex, high-impact technical challenges by designing and architecting scalable, maintainable, high-performance solutions. This role will join the Digital Transformation group and partner closely with software engineering, product, program, and domain engineering teams to define, evolve, and improve software applications and solutions across the enterprise.
This individual will serve as a critical bridge between software engineers and engineering domain teams-articulating technical needs, aligning architecture decisions, and accelerating the delivery of high-quality solutions. The role will also shape the structure, design, and lifecycle of applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while enabling agile, efficient delivery.
By combining architecture strategies with hands-on development and collaboration, this role drives consistency, quality, and performance across the application and solution landscape while helping teams move faster and deliver greater client value.
This role reports to the Director of Digital Software Engineering and resides within the Digital Transformation group.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the overall vision for a solution.
- Define and own the architecture for enterprise and product applications across the portfolio
- Ensure design patterns, standards, and best practices (e.g., layering, modularity, API design, resiliency) are in place and followed
- Collaborate to align application design with broader solution and enterprise architecture
- Guide development teams in implementing scalable and maintainable application architectures
- Ensure applications are designed for performance, reliability, security, and extensibility
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide governance over application design decisions
- Contribute to a highly collaborative team atmosphere
- Provide thought leadership to the delivery team
- Contribute hands-on to application development when needed
- Contribute to improving the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including CI/CD, testing strategies, and observability
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience within a Software Development capacity
- Experience with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Deep analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience within C#, .NET, JavaScript/Typescript, xUnit, Python, or equivalent.
- Strong cross-discipline and cross-group collaboration skills
- Ability to operate with a growth mindset within a highly engaged team.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with application architecture patterns (e.g., layered architecture, microservices, event-driven systems)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous architectural experience within a Software Delivery context
- Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
