Job description
The selected candidate will work as part of a dynamic cross-functional team to support the design and development of various U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships and ensure human factors engineering (HFE) and human systems integration (HSI) requirements are met., * Provide engineering/technical support for concept studies; feasibility studies; preliminary design activities; contract design activities; detail design and construction activities; independent design reviews; In-service ship design and engineering activities; shipboard installation support; and special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.
- Provide naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and in-depth engineering support for the Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E); Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I); and mission equipment and systems installed aboard ships, boats, craft and targets, including naval warships, Coast Guard Cutters, Combat Logistics Force (CLF), and Special Mission Ships., Must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations while performing daily job tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a Human Engineering field (e.g., Human Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Psychology)
- 3+ years of relevant engineer experience in the human engineering field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, possess an ability to monitor progress to schedule and adhere to strict deadlines required
- Knowledge in Human System Integration (HSI)
- Experience in program documentation of the HFE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document - Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document - Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, et. al)
- Maintenance, piloting or military experience
- Experience in Human Modeling
- Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools
- Experience with Usability software (Morae, Camtasia, etc.)
- Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
- Experience in conducting tasks analyses
- Experience in Agile Development
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may be required to manage repair efforts in various offsite locations. The potential for offsite travel can potentially be in excess of 40-50%.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
