SAP S4 Hana Developer - NO C2C
Role details
Job location
Tech stack
Job description
Our client is a rapidly growing, highly technical company with a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation underway. Their environment is modern and greenfield - live since 2022 and intentionally built on clean-core principles - which means there is real opportunity to shape how the platform grows rather than inherit someone else's technical debt.
They are seeking a contract-to-hire SAP S/4HANA Developer to serve as the only dedicated, full-time development resource on their SAP team. This person will own the complete development stack: ABAP back-end, Fiori front-end, and BTP integrations. Day to day, that means working through a growing backlog of enhancements and automation requests, taking on coding tasks tied to major initiatives in procure-to-pay, inventory, and materials, and progressively assuming ownership of work currently handled by an external development partner.
This role is built for a developer who is energized by ownership and comfortable operating without a large team around them. You will work alongside a Functional Architect and other SAP team members, but the technical execution is yours. The ability to self-direct, figure things out, and bring an "I'll learn it" mindset to unfamiliar territory is just as important as deep technical knowledge.
The role is remote-friendly; offices are located in Broomfield, CO and Brooklyn Park, MN, and proximity to either is a plus. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
- ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end delivery of SAP development work - from technical design and estimation through build, unit testing, transport, release, and production stabilization.
- Develop HANA-optimized, clean-core ABAP solutions including ABAP OO enhancements, reports, forms, CDS views, and OData services.
- Build and support Fiori and SAPUI5 applications and UI extensions that reduce manual effort and improve how business users interact with the SAP platform.
- Contribute to BTP-based extension and integration work, serving as the primary owner of integration artifacts as the team's development capacity grows.
- Produce complete technical design documentation: specifications, solution approaches, estimates, dependencies, risk logs, and clean-core assessments.
- Deliver quality and governance artifacts including ATC/SCI results and remediation, HANA performance evidence, and authorization and security documentation.
- Support SIT and UAT through defect triage, root-cause analysis, test data preparation, and stabilization of integrated workflows.
- Manage transport plans, release notes, hypercare windows, and handover packages including runbooks and operational documentation.
- Work a mixed backlog of small, medium, and project-scale requests while reducing the team's reliance on external development resources over time.
- Partner with the Functional Architect, functional consultants, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, production-ready technical solutions.
- Research and resolve technical issues independently using SAP documentation, community resources, and available team knowledge.
