Associate Consultant - Data Analytics

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources (e.g., databases, APIs, cloud storage).
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to understand data requirements.
• Support the development and maintenance of data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Help ensure data quality, consistency, security, and availability across the organization.
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Document systems, workflows, and data definitions.

Data Visualization:

• Create interactive dashboards, often using Power BI, to effectively communicate complex data insights.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and translate business needs into compelling visualizations.
• Design and implement data models, calculations, and KPIs to support dashboard development.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting thorough data validation and testing.
• Write SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and aggregate data from relational databases.

Data Analysis:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, define data requirements, and develop meaningful metrics for tracking data governance improvements.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in insurance data.
• Collect, cleanse, and validate data from various sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare clear and concise reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate data findings to stakeholders.

Client Engagement:

• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations to understand client objectives and challenges.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders by collaborating to develop high-quality deliverables.
• Communicate findings in a clear and concise manner.

Continuous Learning and Professional Development:

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in data analytics, data management and governance, and consulting.
• Develop expertise in advanced analytics techniques.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives by sharing insights, experiences, and emerging trends and technologies related to data management and data governance in the insurance industry.
• Encourage a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.

• 1-2 years of experience in a data analytics or data management role with knowledge of data governance concepts.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess complex data management challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as data governance platforms, data quality tools, and data visualization tools. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other programming languages is desirable.
• Must live in or near Chicago.
