Job description

Nexeo Staffing is hiring an experienced Data Engineer for a high-level opportunity in a fast-paced financial technology environment. This role is ideal for a technical professional with strong experience in data platforms, ETL, SQL, Linux/Unix, cloud or distributed systems, and programming who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting scalable systems, and contributing to data-driven business solutions.

As a Data Engineer, you will help develop, deploy, monitor, and support enterprise-grade data platforms that enable secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and support enterprise-grade data platforms and applications
  • Build and maintain scalable infrastructure to support data-driven solutions
  • Monitor systems, applications, and performance to ensure high availability and consistent uptime
  • Research, test, and recommend new tools, applications, and technologies
  • Analyze business needs and design technical solutions that improve efficiency and reduce risk
  • Troubleshoot application, system, and data platform issues
  • Develop, test, and modify software to improve data platform performance and reliability
  • Provide technical support and expertise for IT projects and production issues
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, and program increment planning
  • Support testing, QA, production deployments, and data operations efforts
  • Coordinate with project managers, scrum masters, and data operations teams to remove impediments and meet project goals
  • Participate in production support rotation as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered
  • Experience with ETL processes, SQL, Unix/Linux, and big data or distributed systems
  • Programming experience with languages such as Java, Python, or similar
  • Knowledge of ETL tools such as IBM DataStage preferred
  • Experience with scheduling, orchestration tools, and data pipeline processes
  • Basic knowledge of search technology and real-time data pipelines preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to gather, interpret, validate, and map business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new technologies quickly

Benefits & conditions

$85.00-$105.00 per hour

Schedule:

Full Time | Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM
