Job description

Our client is actively seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support their growing team based out of Rosemont, IL

This opportunity is onsite 2 days per week in Rosemont, IL

Day to Day:

The Network Consultant s responsible for maintaining and administering OT networks and related environments including hardware, systems software, all networking configurations. Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, routers, access points, switches, cameras, printers, user devices and UPSs. Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve hardware, software or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network design, and/or IP telephony
  • 7+ years of work experience implementing and maintaining server infrastructure
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as IP networking, TCP, DNS, VLANs, IPSec tunnelling, NAT, ARP, BGP, the OSI Model, packet inspection, QoS, link aggregation, SD-WAN, etc.
  • Experience with platforms such as Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA FirePower, Palo Alto, Fortigate Firewalls, etc.
  • Working knowledge of network and Server operating systems, including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, including Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare ESX
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Networks, or related disciplines is a plus

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of key OT networking technologies including DNP3, TCP/IP, ICMP, and L2TP, among others
  • CCNA, CCNP, or other certification
