Job description

  • Develop and enhance automated inspection capabilities that support product quality, process consistency, and operational performance across manufacturing environments.
  • Translate manufacturing quality goals into practical camera, lighting, optics, and image acquisition strategies that perform reliably in real world production settings.
  • Partner with controls, robotics, maintenance, operations, and outside vendors to take inspection concepts from pilot through startup and long-term support.
  • Create repeatable standards for validation, recipe management, data handling, backup practices, and system recovery so solutions can be expanded across sites.
  • Support design reviews, factory and site acceptance activities, commissioning efforts, and post launch troubleshooting for vision enabled automation projects.
  • Help identify the next best inspection opportunities by balancing technical feasibility, plant impact, risk, and return on investment.
  • Contribute to project execution through coordination of timelines, technical decisions, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing expertise, supporting collaboration, and helping strengthen technical capabilities across key operational disciplines.

Requirements

  • Formal education in a technical field with a focus on engineering, industrial technologies, production systems, or related areas.
  • Several years of experience supporting advanced manufacturing, automation, or other technically complex operational environments.
  • Strong foundation in optics, lighting, cameras, lenses, resolution, defect detection, and inspection methodology.
  • Experience working in technical, industrial, or operational environments that leverage advanced systems, automation, or process-driven technologies.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation or advanced manufacturing technologies is beneficial; however, a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn are highly valued.
  • Exposure to startup support, validation activities, statistical analysis, or continuous improvement tools is valued.
  • A motivated, team oriented, growth minded approach with a strong desire to learn and take ownership.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive base compensation with flexibility for the right level of experience.
  • Ability to make a meaningful impact on enterprise-wide improvement efforts, supporting the adoption and expansion of innovative technologies across multiple locations.
  • A visible role with hands on project ownership from concept through startup.
  • Strong cross functional exposure to automation, controls, robotics, and plant operations.
  • Leadership that values curiosity, ownership, coachability, and continuous learning.
  • A streamlined interview process and a team environment built around collaboration and professional development.
