Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Full Stack .NET Developer to join us here in our office in Bolton. The job would suit a recently qualified graduate. You will be working to push our suite of websites forward, fix bugs and build tools to help with the smooth running of the business. You will also help looking after our dedicated servers which includes our databases and email server administration. The main ongoing project is development of the 10ticks.co.uk website into a virtual learning environment. You will be working with a former Salford University graduate helping with programming direction and development strategy. There is a lot of scope for adding your own improvements/ideas to move the business forward.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SVN?, This is an opportunity not to be missed for someone who is willing to work hard and be given key responsibilities from day one.

The role is that of a Full stack Developer using Asp.Net C#, MVC 4+, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5 and CSS3. A good understanding of security concepts and principles is also necessary.

Bonus skills: Asynchronous Services such as Ajax and Web Sockets. Frameworks such as jQuery and Bootstrap and Source Control (Subversion/Git). Knowledge of cloud computing platforms including Azure would be an advantage.

Terms: 28 days holiday (which include bank holidays), 5% pension contribution, 7.5 hour working day, flexible hours, casual dress code.

Work place: This will be based in our office in Bolton (The Cube, Coe Street, BL3 5BU). You will be in the office 2/3 days a week, the other days will be working from home.

We deliver mathematics education for ages 5 -16 using our suite of 10ticks websites (10ticks.co.uk, 10ticks.com.au, 10ticks.co.za, 10ticks.com.my, 10ticks.com). Currently we work in partnership with Liontrust, meaning all UK state funded school can access out websites free of charge. We also have a set of Early Years books (with QR game codes) for 3-5 year olds with a supporting website 10tickers.com. Being part of a small company means that you will be involved in every aspect of programming and the business environment. As one of two programmers you will gain experience of all areas of programming and hardware, helping you continue to develop your knowledge further.
