Job description
The AIops Engineer is responsible for the deployment, operation and optimisation of AI-driven agents across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio and Agent 365.
This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, platform engineering and DevSecOps, ensuring AI agents are secure, reliable, scalable and cost-efficient, with strong alignment to enterprise governance.
Role Accountabilities:

Agent Lifecycle Management Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI agents across M365 platforms, including deployment, promotion, version control and optimisation

Reliability and Observability Implement monitoring and tracing using OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor and Application Insights Track performance, usage and reliability (SLA/SLO), and proactively resolve issues

Cost Optimisation Optimise token usage, API consumption and compute costs across AI workloads Support FinOps practices and cost transparency

Security, DevSecOps and Governance Embed security into the lifecycle using DevSecOps practices and policy-as-code Integrate SAST/DAST into CI/CD pipelines Enforce identity, access controls and compliance using Entra ID and Microsoft Purview Prevent and manage unauthorised AI usage

Platform Engineering and Automation Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for agents and prompts Use Infrastructure as Code for consistent environments Deploy and operate containerised services (AKS/Kubernetes)

Integration Integrate AI agents with Microsoft 365 services, Microsoft Graph, APIs and enterprise systems Ensure all integrations meet security and architectural standards

Incident Management and Improvement Lead incident response, root cause analysis and continuous improvement of AI services

Collaboration and Enablement Work with architecture, security and business teams to deliver practical AI solutions Provide guidance and documentation to support adoption of M365 agent platforms
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * Experience working within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including administration, integration or support of M365 services

Hands-on experience with Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, or comparable agent / conversational AI platforms

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) and container platforms (AKS/Kubernetes)

Experience with RAG architectures and vector databases (e.g. OpenSearch, FAISS, Azure AI Search)

Proficiency in Python and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, YAML)

Experience building APIs, automation and microservices

Strong understanding of observability tooling, including OpenTelemetry, Log Analytics and Application Insights

Experience integrating with Microsoft Graph, REST APIs and event-driven architectures

Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including SAST/DAST and secure SDLC

Experience with Microsoft Purview and identity management (Entra ID)

Awareness of FinOps principles and optimising cloud/AI costs
