Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with an engineering background to further develop their career within construction, supporting the design, technical assessment and delivery of a range of projects across the South East.
The role would suit candidates from a Civil, Structural, Construction or Mechanical Engineering background who are looking to progress within a specialist engineering environment.
The Role
Working as part of the design and engineering team, you will be involved in the development of technical solutions, engineering assessments and project documentation from pre-construction through to project delivery.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with the development and coordination of design solutions
- Supporting the structural design and assessment of systems and associated components
- Producing technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation
- Reviewing structural, thermal and fire performance requirements
- Assisting with load assessments, connection details and material performance reviews
- Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical information
- Liaising with clients, consultants, architects, structural engineers and internal teams
- Producing and managing project documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Supporting compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and project specifications
- Assisting with design reviews throughout project lifecycles
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, * Engineering background preferred, ideally Civil, Structural, Construction or Mechanical Engineering
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification advantageous
- Previous experience within construction, structural engineering or a technical design environment beneficial
- Understanding of structural principles, load paths and material behaviour
- Knowledge of structural, thermal or fire performance considerations advantageous
- Strong technical report writing and documentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Based locally to Kent or willing to relocate
