Job description
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Help Desk Specialist to join our growing logistics company. This role is responsible for providing technical support to employees, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining the systems that keep freight and logistics operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who can communicate clearly and handle multiple IT-related tasks in a fast-paced environment., * Serve as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues on desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and VOIP phones.
- Set up new user accounts, email access, and permissions in Active Directory, Office 365, and other business systems.
- Install, configure, and update Windows workstations and line-of-business applications.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding employees, including provisioning devices and disabling accounts.
- Document technical issues and solutions in the help desk ticketing system.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure devices are labeled, tracked, and properly managed.
- Monitor basic network and server performance alerts and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors and 3rd-party support to resolve hardware, software, or service issues.
- Provide basic training to users on common systems and best practices for cybersecurity and productivity.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical support?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- · 1-3 years of help desk or technical support experience, preferably in logistics, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, basic networking, and remote desktop support tools.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
- Experience with transportation or logistics systems (e.g., McLeod, Descartes, SAP TM, Project44) is a plus.
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus.
