Job description

The Engineer I, Applications role is to develop and execute projects from concept through delivery. This role collaborates with engineering and production teams to turn concepts into actionable plans and high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities include estimating, technical support, programming, quality control, and documentation management, all while ensuring customer expectations are met, and project objectives are achieved., Project Planning & Estimating:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop detailed project plans, including budgets, timelines, resource requirements, bill of materials (BOMs), and other supporting documentation
  • Review bid and specification documents to perform takeoffs and generate accurate cost estimates
  • Develop plans and estimates for open-specification proposals and assist in writing customer proposal letters
  • Select appropriate hardware and instrumentation based on project requirements and application needs

Project Coordination & Performance Tracking:

  • Support Project Managers in monitoring and managing project costs, schedules, and overall performance
  • Assist in coordinating efforts between the engineering and production teams to ensure project alignment and timely execution

Technical Support & Implementation:

  • Provide hands-on technical support during field installations and offer ongoing post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assist with programming and configuration of software and control systems, ensuring compatibility with project specifications

Personal Growth & Process Improvements:

  • Participate in internal improvement initiatives aimed at eliminating waste and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Take on special assignments as needed to support overall team objectives and company goals
  • Establish goals for personal and professional development

Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:

  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical writing?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma (or equivalent) required

  • Higher education in engineering (or related field) preferred
  • Previous experience in industrial controls preferred

Experience, Skill and Abilities Positive safety attitude and personal integrity

    • both are non-negotiable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to think conceptually and apply practical, real-world solutions
  • Strong self-motivation, work ethic, and drive for career growth

Physical Requirements

  • Office and field environment requiring sitting and standing. Travel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise and the need to stand and walk.
