Job description
Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a System & Application Administrator who provides support for data center services, customer requests, and academic technologies. Able to work in a team environment, using independent learning skills to innovate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in a networked environment. Directly support campus constituents, via help desk system, and enterprise campus systems/tools.

Plans and implements information technologies with an academic focus.
Essential Functions
45% Provides service delivery for on-premise and cloud-hosted systems in directory services, web-based applications, digital signage, virtual Windows and Linux systems administration, database management/reporting, backup support, and print management. Plans, oversees and implements goals and objectives, projects, and integrated technologies, systems and services and assure quality of service delivery.
25% Performs daily monitoring of the application software and hardware and its use, analyzes and resolves problems, and works cooperatively to create an appropriate ongoing maintenance schedule; collaborates with hardware, operating system, database administrators, and technical teams to ensure optimal performance of the application. Updates and maintains enterprise application configuration settings as necessary to administer the application(s) and ensure optimal performance; works closely with external vendors, business analysts, business leaders, security professionals, end users, team members, and infrastructure support personnel to design solutions and ensure systems integrity.
10% Researches, implements, and supports network-based applications and solutions in a mixed Windows/macOS client environment.
10% Provide support for the campus printing support for both managed print services and ID cards.
10% Updates documentation and procedures; works with vendors; performs other duties as assigned, * Will require possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License or other state license; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:

- Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense

- May require travel or work at the Black Mountain campus

- Required to sit for a prolonged period of time, viewing a computer monitor
- May be required to lift or carry up to #50 lbs., * Part-Time employment, to include Adjunct or Associate Professor (must include number of hours worked, contact hours or load)
- Provide employment history in a month/year format (e.g., 09/07 to 10/11) including job title, job duties, for each position held and name of employer for each position.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field and two years of systems and application administration experience in area related to assignment., An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered., Experience supporting enterprise applications in a large organization. Experience with administration of workstations, virtual servers, Dockers, web-based applications, server/end user software, databases, network printing and SSO. 2. Experience working in an Active Directory environment, demonstrating usage of client management tools, group policies, and user authentication. 3. Experience working with virtual or cloud-based systems on VMware, Azure, AWS and other platforms. 4. Experience with scripts and programming languages such as PowerShell, Shell, HTML, PHP, etc. 5. Experience working with SQL database platforms such as Microsoft SQL, Postgres and/or MySQL. 6. Experience with server system security and endpoint protection platforms. Experience with organizational printing administration and/or managed print services. 7. One year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
