The ideal candidate will have experience supporting USCG VMWare, Global 6/GCCS, RHEL and Windows Server and Client systems in a 24x7 environment. Handles multiple applications, systems, network, and/or telecommunications activities. Manages information systems throughout the organization. May include programming, analysis, networking, data processing, and/or administration responsibilities. Resolves technical problems. Responsibilities:

  • Provides troubleshooting and operational support on site at C5ISC Portsmouth, VA and USCG Atlantic Area in Portsmouth, VA
  • Provides recommendations on tools to monitor and support all environments.
  • Assists with making process and system improvement recommendations to assist the business in achieving its goals and objectives, leveraging best practices and professional experiences.
  • Installs and maintains the organization's computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  • Recommends improvement in programs and procedures to simplify or maximize efficiency of operations.

Requirements

Do you have experience in vCenter?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Active Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree - preferred

  • Security + CE certification

  • Linux + certification or similar certification

  • 10+ years of systems administration and/or engineering experience

  • Linux Systems Administration/Red Hat Ansible Tower experience - strongly desired

  • Experience with VMware vSphere vCenter Server and EXSi Host - strongly preferred

  • Experience with GCCS-J/Global 6 - strongly preferred

  • Experience with DISA Agile Client - strongly preferred Experience with Windows 11 system administration - strongly preferred

  • Knowledge - Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards. Has moderate skill sets & developing proficiency within field and knowledge of company, processes & customers.

  • Problem Solving - Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.

  • Discretion/Latitude - Works under very general supervision. Follows established procedures.

  • Impact - Contributes to the completion of team objectives, organizational projects and goals. Errors or failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in schedules & result in allocation of additional resources.

  • Liaison/Leadership - Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects.

Benefits & conditions

Posted Min Pay Rate: USD $79,648.00/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate: USD $132,746.67/Yr. Salary Disclosure: Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
