Job description

A rapidly growing investment firm is seeking a VP of IT to lead technology strategy, AI integration, cybersecurity, and infrastructure across the organization. This is a high?impact, onsite leadership role supporting investment, finance, and operations teams in a fast?paced, high?trust environment.

The firm is investing heavily in modernizing its tech stack and leveraging AI to drive efficiency and scale.

What You'll Lead

  • Own firmwide IT infrastructure, systems, networking, and security
  • Drive AI adoption, with emphasis on Claude, agentic workflows, automation, and LLM?enabled productivity
  • Evaluate and optimize the firm's technology stack; recommend new tools and retire legacy systems
  • Manage outsourced IT partners, cybersecurity vendors, and AV/office technology providers
  • Partner with senior leadership to improve workflows across investment, finance, and portfolio operations
  • Oversee and mentor internal IT support resources
  • Maintain IT budgets, vendor contracts, and technology roadmaps
  • Ensure compliance with SEC?regulated cybersecurity standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • 8-15+ years of progressive IT engineering experience
  • Hands?on experience with Claude, OpenAI, Copilot, and LLM?based automation
  • Strong background in infrastructure, networking, firewalls, and enterprise security
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is a plus
  • Ability to manage vendors, budgets, and cross?functional stakeholders
  • Business?minded approach to technology and workflow optimization
  • Must be local to San Diego and able to work onsite 5 days/week
