Job description

Capstone IT is helping our client to hire an experienced MySQL DBA to support, maintain, and optimize critical MySQL database environments. This role will focus on database performance, availability, clustering, replication, upgrades, and operational support activities across production systems., The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise and hands-on experience supporting highly available MySQL environments utilizing clustering technologies. This individual should be comfortable troubleshooting complex database issues and collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams., · Administer and support production MySQL database environments

· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot MySQL clustering and high-availability solutions

· Monitor database health, performance, replication, and availability

· Perform database upgrades, patching, backups, and recovery operations

· Optimize database performance, indexing strategies, and query execution plans

· Support development teams through ticket resolution and troubleshooting activities

· Participate in database architecture discussions and capacity planning efforts

· Maintain operational documentation and support change management processes

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, · Strong hands-on MySQL administration experience

· Advanced SQL development and troubleshooting skills

· Experience supporting MySQL clustering technologies and high-availability architectures

· Experience with replication, failover, and disaster recovery planning

· Expertise with database tuning, indexing, backups, and performance optimization

· Experience supporting production database environments

· Ability to independently manage operational support activities

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with Galera Cluster, InnoDB Cluster, Group Replication, or similar technologies

· Linux administration experience

· Shell scripting experience

· Exposure to cloud-based database platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

· Experience supporting large-scale transactional systems

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study

· 5+ years of relevant experience
