Job description
As a Security Engineer, you will contribute to both operational security activities and strategic security initiatives within the Digital Security Office.
- Application Security expertise
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Application Security Team.
- Review and validate projects, solutions, and processes from an information security perspective.
- Ensure that security requirements and best practices are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders regarding application security matters.
- Risk assessment & Security governance
- Identify, assess, and communicate IT security risks associated with applications, projects, and third-party integrations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security controls, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Analyze emerging regulations, security standards, and compliance requirements, and evaluate their impact on the client's application security landscape.
- Stakeholder management
- Communicate security risks, recommendations, and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, architects, project managers, risk officers, and external partners.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT Security

Strong knowledge of recognized security standards and frameworks, including
- ISO 27001
- OWASP
- PCI-DSS
- Other industry-standard security frameworks

Good understanding of secure software development principles and application security practices

Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities

Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary teams

Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills

Languages
- Native Dutch or French
- Strong professional proficiency in English
