Job description

You are an experienced database specialist? Do you desire to work in a practical domain? Do you want to support scientists, researchers, students and more by making relevant data accessible to them?, · Understand, design and maintain different data structures and the corresponding data, and constantly optimize and adapt the data structures and schemas to fulfil customer use cases.

· Transform the data structure for different representations and implementations.

· Optimize the database, e.g., indexes, the data structure, and queries, and implement extensions, stored procedures for fast result retrieval even for complex queries.

· Be an active member of the agile team, contributing to ceremonies and team decision making.

· Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.

Requirements

· Expert (5 years) PostgreSQL or Oracle database experience with a strong focus on database, schema, data structure, and query optimization.

· A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in computer science, or life sciences with a strong background in database performance optimization., · Expert level experience in PostgreSQL or Oracle database. Experience in both technologies is a plus.

· Strong background in database optimization.

· Minimum medium level scripting experience in Bash, Perl, or Python.

· Fluent English oral and written communication skills.

· The ability and passion to work in a diverse team.

· Experience in AI supported development/working.

The following skills will be a bonus:

· Basic chemistry or life sciences knowledge.

· Experience or training in AWS.

· Experience or training in C/C++.

· Experience or training in Linux.

· Knowledge of Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence.

You will be part of an agile development team supporting and continuously improving our chemical full text retrieval search to fulfil our customer's needs.
