Job description
- Design and develop high-quality code that meets WCAG 2.2 AAA, delivering the highest and most optimal accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with user-centred principles.
- Deliver measurable improvements to site performance, user engagement and accessibility.
- Write cross-browser compatible code and apply optimisation techniques for speed and responsiveness.
- Produce clear and useful documentation, including technical specifications and implementation guides.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve front-end performance, maintainability and user satisfaction.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
Requirements
Accessibility & Technical
- Focus on accessible development, with proven experience of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2.
- Ideally proven experience delivering to WCAG 2.2 AAA standards.
- Strong automated and or unit testing background.
- Experience with internal component libraries or custom component libraries.
- Event tracking, logging and analytics (Google Analytics and App Insights tracking).
- Experience working within Public Sector environments is highly desirable.
Team & Collaboration
- Team player who is willing to share experiences, collaborate effectively and contribute to making the workplace better.
- Comfortable supporting other developers and participating in peer programming across teams with varying levels of experience., * Strong proven experience and track record of delivering enterprise-level applications using React with REDUX and class based React components.
- Expert-level HTML5 and CSS, including pre-processors such as SASS.
- Experience working with RESTful Services and APIs.
- Track record of building responsive, interactive user interfaces with an eye for detail.
- Ability to write cross-browser compatible code and apply optimisation techniques.
- Familiar with the concepts of building reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and business stakeholders, ensuring high-quality builds meet design specifications.
