Job description

Our goal is simple: create food you would be proud to serve your friends and family at a price point and value that people want.

Today, Firenze serves thousands of customers through catering, retail, and delivery, with a menu centered around Italian-inspired sandwiches made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients and simple, transparent recipes.

As we continue to grow our locations, we plan to expand into breakfast, dinner, grab-and-go meals, prepared foods, and other food categories while maintaining the same commitment to quality, value, and operational excellence.

We believe clean food should not be a luxury product.

Why This Role Exists

As Firenze grows, we need someone who can help connect culinary, operations, and business systems.

This role is best described as a force multiplier: someone who works cross-functionally across the company, helping improve, connect, and scale the systems, processes, and expertise that drive the business.

Because this role sits at the intersection of culinary, operations, and business systems, you will frequently be placed on Firenze's highest-priority initiatives and work directly with leadership to solve our most important business challenges.

One day you may be working with our chef on recipe yields and production processes. The next day you may be helping operations improve training systems and throughput analysis. The next day you may be building reporting tools, improving forecasting models, implementing new technology, supporting a new store opening, or helping evaluate the company's next growth opportunity.

Your primary responsibility is not managing people. Your primary responsibility is building the systems, processes, and infrastructure that help the entire company perform at a higher level.

Success means our chef, operations team, and leadership team all become stronger because of the systems and processes you help put in place.

You will be expected to learn and master our existing systems, improve them, and help build the next generation of operational infrastructure as the company grows.

Areas of Impact

Culinary Systems

Help translate our chef's work into standardized and measurable processes that our staff can execute consistently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support culinary R&D and new product development

  • Learn recipes, production techniques, and workflows

  • Translate culinary processes into SOPs and training materials

  • Record yields, weights, conversions, and production standards

  • Build recipe costing and ingredient databases

  • Help establish scalable production systems

  • Assist with product launches and menu rollouts

Operations Infrastructure

Help provide the operational backbone that allows our team to execute consistently and thrive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Labor analysis and productivity tracking

  • Training systems and operational documentation

  • SOP creation and implementation

  • Operational audits and checklists

  • Throughput and timing analysis

  • Station design and workflow improvements

  • Prep guides, order guides, and inventory systems

  • Quality control and consistency initiatives

Business Systems & Analytics

Help transform operational information into useful tools, reporting, and decision-making systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Master and maintain advanced spreadsheet systems

  • Build operational reporting and dashboards

  • A Lead Restaurant365 implementation and optimization projects

  • Support forecasting and menu mix analysis

  • Improve inventory and purchasing systems

  • Create tools that connect recipe data, inventory, prep, purchasing, and ordering

  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects as the company grows

Requirements

Advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency

  • Experience working with large interconnected spreadsheets

  • Ability to understand, audit, and improve complex formulas

  • Comfortable using INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, nested IF statements, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and similar analytical tools

  • Ability to quickly learn existing systems and improve them over time

  • Experience with Restaurant365, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, ERP systems, or similar platforms is a plus, but not required.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • An excellent communicator

  • Humble and collaborative

  • Comfortable working across multiple functions

  • Curious and eager to learn

  • Strong analytically, but equally strong in execution

  • Able to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail

  • Willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed

  • Team-first and focused on helping the company succeed

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities

Most importantly, you enjoy solving messy problems, building systems, and helping teams operate at a higher level.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Strong candidates often come from backgrounds such as:

  • Consulting or business operations

  • Startup operations or high-growth companies

  • Food manufacturing, food systems, supply chain, or procurement

  • Industrial engineering, process improvement, or operational excellence

  • Analytics roles with significant exposure to real-world operations

Food, restaurant, manufacturing, or supply chain experience is preferred, but not required. We are ultimately looking for a strong operator and systems thinker with a passion for food who can learn quickly and work across disciplines.

Benefits & conditions

The first phase of this role is heavily focused on implementation, infrastructure, and operational systems.

As Firenze grows, we expect this role to evolve alongside the company.
