In this role, you will serve as a Linux infrastructure engineer supporting the design, deployment, automation, security, and sustainment of enterprise-class compute and virtualization platforms across secure and highly regulated environments. The role focuses on delivering resilient, scalable, and compliant infrastructure solutions supporting development, engineering, and mission-critical operations within classified and air-gapped environments., * Design, deploy, harden, and maintain enterprise Linux infrastructure environments utilizing RHEL 8, RHEL 9, and Rocky Linux.
- Engineer and support physical and virtualized infrastructure platforms utilizing KVM virtualization technologies.
- Support secure, air-gapped development, testing, and production environments with a focus on operational stability and compliance.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation solutions utilizing Ansible.
- Design, deploy, and administer on-premises cloud infrastructure platforms utilizing Apache CloudStack.
- Implement and maintain enterprise storage, backup, and distributed storage solutions including RAID and GlusterFS technologies.
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Linux application hosting environments including Apache HTTP Server.
- Perform system patching, STIG hardening, SELinux administration, firewalld configuration, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Troubleshoot complex Linux kernel, networking, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure performance issues.
- Support observability and monitoring initiatives utilizing technologies such as Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.
- Collaborate with Cyber, Engineering, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to ensure systems remain compliant, secure, and operationally effective.
- Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, automation efforts, and operational improvement activities across enterprise environments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and engineers to enhance team technical capability and operational maturity.
Requirements
A successful candidate brings extensive hands-on experience with Linux platform engineering, virtualization technologies, automation frameworks, and private cloud infrastructure. Strong expertise in infrastructure hardening, operational reliability, and secure systems administration is essential.
You will leverage your technical expertise to modernize infrastructure platforms, automate operational processes, improve system reliability, and support highly available enterprise services across distributed environments., * Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Linux systems engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
- CompTIA Security +
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting:
- RHEL 8 / RHEL 9
- Rocky Linux
- KVM virtualization platforms
- Air-gapped or highly regulated enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies and automation utilizing Ansible.
- Experience designing and supporting private cloud infrastructure utilizing Apache CloudStack.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies, backup solutions, and distributed storage platforms
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, routing, and switching
- Experience administering Apache HTTP Server and Linux-based application hosting environments
- Experience implementing STIG hardening, SELinux, firewalld, patching, and enterprise security compliance practices
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex Linux infrastructure issues across compute, networking, storage, and virtualization domains

- And more!, The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
