Job description

With limited oversight, the Senior Configuration Analyst is responsible with maintaining and enhancing software applications for Sammons Financial Group Companies (Sammons Financial Group). This role requires expertise in configuring and customizing applications to align with business needs and improve system capabilities. The Analyst will manage application configuration, develop, and implement advanced procedures, and create comprehensive reporting related to performance and monitoring of the software applications. Responsibilities include collaboration across business stakeholders to grasp requirements, offering advice and ensuring data and development precision. Responsibilities:

  • Integrate, configure and maintain systems to enable efficiencies in crucial areas of the business.

  • Gather and document business requirements, with an emphasis on developing technical specifications. Develop process flows and configuration design alongside testing for deployment, as needed.

  • Create and maintain custom objects, forms, fields, views, reports, workflows, dashboards, campaigns and functions, etc. as applicable to the software solution.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts and collaborate with team members to comprehend projects, facilitate business processes analysis, gather and document requirements, and configure and implement technology solutions.

  • Partner with key departmental stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional technical specifications to meet or surpass the user needs.

  • Lead and coordinate daily platform maintenance, including user account administration, production support, report and dashboard generation, form management, workflows, performance monitoring, backups, security, sharing rules, data content, technical issue resolution for users and license management, as applicable to the software solution.

  • Lead data and analytics by structuring, safeguarding, and ensuring data integrity within the platform, while also interpreting data through reports and dashboard, as applicable to the software solution.

  • Design comprehensive solutions by employing configuration and customization strategies that adhere to software standards and methodologies, as applicable to the assigned software solution.

  • Utilize designated automation tools and technologies to enhance and streamline business and technical processes within the supported software solution.

  • Implement changes for from development to testing and production environments utilizing established continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and technologies.

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of the organization's System Development Life Cycle(SDLC).

  • Partner with various internal technology teams to address and resolve issues.

  • Managing key aspects of vendor management, including fostering relationships, overseeing performance monitoring and reporting, resolving issues, coordinating vendor communication and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and ensure the accuracy of comprehensive documentation that details data flow from source systems to end-user applications, utilizing in-depth knowledge of Sammons Financial group data to ensure all transformation and processes are meticulously mapped and tracked.

  • Develop, conduct, and monitor functional, performance and regression tests on both new and existing software configurations, while actively engaging in and guiding peer code reviews, using extensive software expertise.

  • Lead the deployment of platform updates and ensure the efficient integration of new features. Oversee new platform releases and effectively implement new features.

  • Facilitate communication among development teams to design and implement solutions, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and code quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management Information System, Computer Science or related field Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in platform administration and development Preferred
  • Experience in the financial services industry Preferred
  • 2-4 years' experience in key functional areas such as Product Management, Underwriting, Production support, Client services or similar areas Preferred
  • Experience with automation tools and platform administration as applicable by software solution Preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strengths in questioning and listening, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and foster collaboration across diverse teams, ensuring clarity and alignment on project goals and priorities
  • Proven capability to rapidly acquire and apply knowledge of Sammons Financial Group systems, business structures and associated technology processes
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytic skills, attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks & projects, thereby supporting initiative success
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a creative, agile environment and manage agile task assignments
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with specific software solutions is crucial for fulfilling the primary responsibility of this role, with the requires skills, knowledge varying according to the specific software solution supported
  • A thorough understanding of user interface (UI) technologies is vital for supporting relevant software solutions
  • Proven teamwork capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills, proficient in collaborating and communicating with individuals from varied personalities and geographic locations
  • Motivated and proactive, able to work independently while efficiently meeting strict deadlines
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Deep understanding of concepts and techniques such as work simplification, workflow and process analysis, etc
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite of products and other business analyst tools

  • Criminal background check required. Pay Range: USD $68,462.00 - USD $142,628.00 /Yr. Pay Transparency Verbiage: Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience.
