Job description
Our client is seeking an innovative and highly technical 3D Data Scientist to join a growing Digital Endpoints team focused on advancing the next generation of facial aesthetics measurement technologies. This unique opportunity combines machine learning, computer vision, 3D imaging, and scientific research to develop and validate digital biomarkers used in clinical and commercial applications., * Lead validation activities for advanced 3D facial capture technologies, establishing benchmarks for accuracy, repeatability, and performance.
- Design and execute validation studies using photogrammetry-rendered 3D imagery and mesh-based datasets.
- Develop statistical frameworks and testing methodologies to evaluate 3D capture fidelity and landmark reproducibility.
- Build and optimize machine learning models utilizing 3D meshes, point clouds, depth maps, and related data structures.
- Define and develop new 3D digital endpoints and computational biomarkers for facial aesthetics applications.
- Create scalable workflows for 3D data preprocessing, feature extraction, quality control, and model evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data science, engineering, clinical, regulatory, and product stakeholders.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in computer vision, photogrammetry, geometric deep learning, and digital health.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience working with 3D data such as meshes, point clouds, photogrammetry outputs, or medical imaging datasets, along with strong machine learning and statistical analysis skills. This role will collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, clinical researchers, and product teams to develop scalable 3D digital endpoints and validate cutting-edge 3D capture systems., * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Vision, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning, computer vision, data science, or related technical disciplines.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Hands-on experience working with 3D data including meshes, point clouds, depth maps, photogrammetry outputs, or similar datasets.
- Experience with 3D rendering or modeling platforms such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, RealityCapture, Metashape, or comparable tools.
- Strong statistical analysis and experimental design experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly., * Experience within medical imaging, digital health, aesthetics, dermatology, or healthcare technology.
- Knowledge of photogrammetry workflows and 3D reconstruction techniques.
- Experience with Open3D, trimesh, PyMeshLab, PyTorch Geometric, or similar 3D processing frameworks.
- Familiarity with geometric deep learning, computer vision, and machine learning model development.
- Experience developing digital biomarkers, digital endpoints, or quantitative outcome measures.
- Understanding of 3D facial landmarking, shape analysis, or surface modeling techniques.
- Experience working in regulated environments and applying reproducible research or MLOps practices.
