Job description

This role focuses on producing high-quality cartographic products and maintaining accurate geospatial data. You will work with large file structures, perform geometric corrections, and manage multiple datasets to ensure data integrity and consistency. The position involves orthorectification, conflation of various data sources, and implementing changes to existing datasets using modern GIS tools., * Create, edit, and maintain cartographic products using GIS software.

  • Work with large and complex file structures to organize and manage geospatial data efficiently.
  • Perform geometric fixes to improve the accuracy and alignment of spatial datasets.
  • Conduct orthorectification to correct imagery and other spatial data for geometric distortions.
  • Conflate multiple datasets by integrating and reconciling data from different sources into a cohesive dataset.
  • Update and modify existing datasets to reflect new information and changes in source data.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all geospatial layers and products.
  • Collaborate with team members to support mapping and analysis needs using ArcGIS, ArcPro, or similar tools.
  • Document workflows, data changes, and processes to maintain clear records of GIS operations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcPro, or similar GIS software tools.
  • Strong understanding of cartography and mapping principles.
  • Experience working with large geospatial file structures and datasets.
  • Ability to perform geometric corrections and orthorectification on spatial data.
  • Skill in conflating multiple datasets and resolving discrepancies between data sources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography or Geology, or a closely related field.
  • Solid foundation in geography concepts and spatial analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Esri-based mapping tools and workflows.
  • Background in mapping projects that involve integrating multiple data sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with colleagues.

Benefits & conditions

The role begins with approximately one month of on-site training in a conference room setting to ensure you are comfortable with the tools, processes, and data structures. After training, you can work 100% remotely if you prefer. If you choose to work on-site, you will sit in an open office area with about 80-100 people, while still performing your work independently. The dress code is relaxed, allowing jeans and t-shirts, with the option to dress in business casual attire if you prefer. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the option to work four 10-hour shifts if that better fits your schedule. A set but flexible schedule is available to support work-life balance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
