Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer with strong networking expertise to join our Network & Telephony team, supporting the critical voice and data infrastructure used across Perth & Kinross Council. This is a hands-on technical role supporting enterprise-scale networks across a large, multi-site estate, including corporate and education environments. You will: o Support and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless and telephony services o Troubleshoot and optimise switching, routing and Wi-Fi infrastructure o Contribute to WAN / SD-WAN upgrades, wireless refresh programmes and telephony modernisation o Monitor network performance, respond to incidents and carry out root cause analysis o Support developments in cloud connectivity, secure remote access and SD-WAN Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post., If you have lived overseas for a period of 12 months or more (continuous or total) within the last 10 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Requirements
o Proven, hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure o Strong practical knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching and network security o Experience working in multi-site or large-scale environments o Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues o Clear communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach HND or higher in a relevant field, or significant hands-on IT engineering experience. Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Cisco or equivalent vendor certifications) or demonstrable experience is desirable. You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
