Job description

As Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the University's end user computing platforms, ensuring secure, scalable and highly available services across Windows, Linux and macOS environments., * Leading the design, delivery and ongoing improvement of end user computing platforms, device management and automation practices.

  • Supporting cloud, infrastructure and identity services, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and virtualisation platforms.
  • Driving platform security, compliance, patching and endpoint protection initiatives across the University.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and engineering oversight to the EUC team and wider ITS colleagues.
  • Supporting operational excellence through incident resolution, lifecycle management, project delivery and participation in the on-call roster.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing enterprise end user computing platforms across Windows, Linux and macOS environments.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, Jamf, configuration management and automation tools.
  • Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Bash and Ansible.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor colleagues and contribute to solution design and project delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on service quality and continuous improvement.
