Job description
- Build custom segments for The Trade Desk's clients for use within our data management platform, ensuring accuracy, data quality, and policy compliance throughout.
- Spend meaningful time writing and running SQL to extract, analyze, and validate data across TTD data systems - combining large data sets, interpreting results, and turning findings into optimization strategies and custom segment solutions.
- QA segment builds and data outputs for accuracy and compliance before delivery; troubleshoot technical issues independently and document findings clearly, escalating with full context when needed.
- Evaluate each request against TTD ad policy standards - including sensitive categories, advertiser verticals, and geographic requirements - and escalate anything ambiguous before proceeding.
- Build, maintain, and improve automations, scripts, and workflows that support segment creation and data operations - owning accuracy, checks and balances, and process efficiency across cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for stakeholders - guiding segment strategy, data best practices, and audience design, communicating proactively, and delivering high-ownership service from intake to completion.
- Own client and internal requests end-to-end in Salesforce - from intake through resolution - troubleshooting and escalating when needed while maintaining documentation clear enough for any team member to pick up at any point.
- Work daily alongside teammates and stakeholders across North America, APAC, and EMEA - adapting your communication style to different audiences and levels of technical expertise, coordinating cross-regional handoffs, and building trusted working relationships across cultures and time zones.
- Contribute to the team's knowledge base through accurate documentation of team systems, processes, and domain knowledge - and serve as a subject matter expert for data analysis methods and tools.
- Act as a connector between Data Support and other TTD teams to resolve data and segment-related issues, and contribute to internal enablement work - process improvement, tooling, and cross-functional projects - as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience (0-3 years); a background in data, analytics, marketing technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficient in Excel and MS Office, including pivot tables, charts, and manipulation of large data sets.
- Able to write and run complex SQL queries, including multiple joins, temp tables, CTEs, CASE WHEN logic, and nested queries.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of technical expertise - you can translate complexity into clarity.
- Collaborative and effective cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, with a track record of building strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented and precise, with a strong commitment to data handling ethics and consumer privacy.
- Skilled at solving complex technical problems creatively while anticipating stakeholder needs and consistently meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and change - you approach shifting requirements as opportunities rather than obstacles.
- Comfortable adopting and adapting to new technologies, tools, and coding environments - including platforms like Databricks, Python, and AI-assisted tooling (Copilot, Claude, etc.) - as the tech stack and industry continue to evolve.
- Strong time manager who can work across functions in a dynamic, solution-oriented environment while meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated and innovative; comfortable working independently, but an excellent team player with a growth mindset and a desire to make those around you better. #LI-LM2
