Join GDIT as a Network Administrator Sr Principal/IAC Engineer for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support., As a Network Administrator Sr Principal/IAC Engineer, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.
You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas:
- Lead the development and implementation of software defined initiatives.
- Provide subject matter expertise with the knowledge of processes and procedures related to the development and transition to cloud, hybrid-cloud, and multiple CSPs.
- Execute and support the adoption, operational transition, and Tier 3 support of all USSTRATCOM Cloud Services, tools, applications, and supporting services (i.e., storage, authentication, DNS, IPAM, certificate authority, software, and Operating System (OS) patching) across all CSP and Impact Level (IL) environments.
- Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or CloudFormation to write code that defines infrastructure components like servers, databases, networks, and security groups.
- Store infrastructure code in a version control system to track changes, enable rollbacks, and collaborate with other engineers.
- Test infrastructure code changes in staging environments to ensure they function as expected.
- Monitor the performance and health of deployed infrastructure, identifies potential bottlenecks, and optimizes configurations for efficiency.
Requirements
- BS degree; may be substituted for additional years of experience
- 10+ years of IT/DoD configuration management experience
- Security Clearance Level: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
- Required Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation certified within 9 months of start; GFACT or CND or Security+ or GSEC
- Location: Offutt AFB, NE
- Deep understanding of cloud service models
- Experience with hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments
- Cloud networking: VPC/VNet design, subnets, routing, security groups, peering
- Storage architecture (block, object, file)
- Identity & Access Management across CSPs
- Cloud security & compliance frameworks (e.g., IL2-IL6, FedRAMP, DoD SRG)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef
- Writing reusable modules, templates, automation playbooks
- CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure deployments
- Automated OS patching and configuration management, Years of Experience

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
