Marblehead Community Charter Public School (MCCPS) seeks an innovative, student-centered Technology and Digital Literacy Teacher who is passionate about preparing students for success in an increasingly digital world. This unique dual-role position combines classroom instruction with school-wide technology support, serving both students and staff as a leader in educational technology integration. The ideal candidate will inspire students to become responsible, creative, and proficient users of technology while also supporting teachers and school leaders in maximizing the effective use of technology throughout the school. Position Summary The Technology and Digital Literacy Teacher will provide direct instruction to students in grades 4-7, developing essential digital literacy, technology, and computer science skills. In addition, the teacher will serve as a school-based technology resource, supporting faculty and staff with instructional technology, device management, and technology-related needs. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys both teaching students and collaborating with adults to enhance teaching and learning through technology. Student Instruction Responsibilities Teach technology and digital literacy courses for students in grades 4-7, including: * Digital citizenship and responsible online behavior * Internet safety, privacy, and cybersecurity awareness * Keyboarding and productivity skills * Digital communication and collaboration * Research and information literacy * Media literacy and evaluating online sources * Introduction to computer science and computational thinking * Coding and programming fundamentals * Digital creativity, multimedia production, and presentation design * Emerging technologies and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools * Project-based learning experiences that integrate technology with core academic subjects Google Workspace Instruction Develop student proficiency in Google Workspace for Education, including: * Google Docs * Google Sheets * Google Slides * Google Forms * Google Drive * Google Classroom * Collaborative workflows and file organization * Digital productivity and project management skills Students should leave the program with the confidence and skills necessary to effectively use technology in middle school, high school, college, and future careers. School Technology Support Responsibilities Serve as a technology resource for faculty and staff by: * Supporting teachers in the effective integration of technology into instruction * Providing coaching and guidance on educational technology tools and best practices * Assisting with Google Workspace administration and user support * Supporting classroom technology, student devices, and instructional software * Troubleshooting basic technology issues and coordinating with external IT providers when needed * Assisting with device deployment, inventory, and management * Supporting schoolwide technology
Requirements
initiatives and technology-related projects * Helping evaluate and implement new educational technology resources * Developing technology training and professional learning opportunities for staff * Maintaining technology documentation, guides, and resources for school personnel Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred * Massachusetts teaching license in Technology/Engineering, Digital Literacy, Computer Science, or related field preferred * Experience teaching technology, computer science, digital literacy, or related subjects * Strong knowledge of Google Workspace for Education * Familiarity with educational technology platforms and learning management systems * Ability to troubleshoot common technology issues and support end users * Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills * Commitment to creating engaging, equitable, and inclusive learning environments Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting school technology systems and devices * Knowledge of Chromebook management and Google Admin tools * Experience with coding, robotics, STEM, or computer science instruction * Experience providing professional development or technology coaching to educators * Understanding of project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction Why Join MCCPS?
