Job description

The Director of IT and Data is responsible for the integrity, strategy, and performance of Grace Place's data systems, reporting infrastructure, and technology operations. This role oversees organizational use of Blackbaud (Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Enrollment Management, Student Management, and Tuition Management), Office 365, SharePoint, and other platforms. The Director leads the Data Team, serves as the primary internal IT lead, and coordinates with IT vendor and other external technology partners to ensure reliable, organization-wide technology support., * Lead the strategy, integration, and optimization of Grace Place's organizational systems, including Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Enrollment Management, Office 365, SharePoint, Reftab, and other platforms.

  • Manage the Data Team; provide direction, accountability, training, and performance oversight to ensure accurate, timely work.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, documentation practices, system ownership expectations, and reporting controls.
  • Identify system gaps, workflow issues, and reporting weaknesses; translate organizational priorities into system improvements.
  • Support strategic planning priorities related to technology, data, AI, reporting, and process improvement.

IT and Technology Operations

  • Serve as the internal IT lead for all technology systems and user support across Grace Place.
  • Act as primary liaison with outside IT Vendor and other vendors; manage communication, issue escalation, and vendor accountability.
  • Provide or coordinate on-site troubleshooting and technology support for staff, classrooms, and campus areas.
  • Oversee user access, account setup, device readiness, and technology onboarding/offboarding; coordinate with HR on role changes.
  • Maintain an accurate technology inventory including devices, licenses, assigned users, lifecycle status, and replacement needs.
  • Develop and maintain technology policies, protocols, documentation, and staff training materials.

Data Integrity, Auditing, and Compliance

  • Design and implement ongoing data audit processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across key systems.
  • Establish data quality standards and documented processes; work with departments to identify and correct data issues promptly.
  • Meet at least quarterly with each Chief to review key data points and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop recurring exception reports and cleanup processes to reduce duplicates, missing data, and inconsistent coding.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Oversee reporting infrastructure to ensure timely, accurate, and useful delivery of reports across departments.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics supporting fundraising, finance, enrollment, programs, HR, and leadership.
  • Create and maintain a master reporting calendar with ownership, deadlines, data sources, and review steps.
  • Document recurring reports so they can be repeated consistently without reliance on one individual's knowledge.

Blackbaud and Financial Systems Oversight

  • Oversee Grace Place's use of Blackbaud systems and lead the rollout of new modules as implemented.
  • Coordinate with Development, Finance, and Programs to ensure system workflows support accurate gift processing, reconciliation, and enrollment tracking.
  • Maintain batch controls, documentation, exception review, and report validation; lead data cleanup/audits and standardization efforts.

Team Leadership and Workflow Management

  • Establish structured workflows, task tracking, quality review, and accountability systems for the Data Team.
  • Clearly divide responsibilities between the Data Assistant Manager and Data Coordinator, including gift entry, constituent updates, enrollment data, reporting, and IT support tasks.
  • Maintain cross-training so critical processes are not dependent on a single employee.
  • Apply project management principles to workload distribution, deadline enforcement, documentation, and system improvements.

Systems Integration and Process Improvement

  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects including technology transitions, data cleanup, reporting improvements, and workflow redesign.
  • Create project plans, timelines, documentation, and training materials for technology and data projects.
  • Identify repetitive manual processes and recommend automation, revised workflows, or improved reporting tools.
  • Move the organization from reactive technology support toward planned, documented, accountable systems management., All applicants must successfully complete required State and National background screening as a condition of employment prior to beginning work at Grace Place for Children and Families. Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have a valid Certified Project Manager certification?, Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree required in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Nonprofit Management, or related field.

  • Master's degree preferred., * PMP or equivalent project management certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data operations, systems administration, IT coordination, or related fields.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Enrollment Management, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and external IT vendors strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience managing staff, vendors, data quality, systems documentation, and cross-functional projects required.
  • Prior experience supervising staff, supporting team development, and promoting a positive, mission-focused team culture required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of data integrity, reporting, workflow design, IT support coordination, and process improvement.
  • Ability to balance strategic systems work with hands-on technology support and staff assistance.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users and senior leaders.
  • Strong judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, follow-through, and attention to detail.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain physically active, move between buildings, assist with event setup/breakdown, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive clerical tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Must demonstrate physical stamina and the ability to remain physically active, mentally alert, and maintain energy throughout extended shifts, including standing and moving for prolonged periods.
