Job description
Speedy Cargo LLC is looking for a strong, tech-forward Operations Systems Manager to work directly under ownership and help lead the daily operation of our trucking company.
This is not a basic dispatch role. This is not just a scheduling position. This is a leadership role for someone who can manage people, improve systems, track performance, organize workflows, solve operational problems, and help create structure inside a fast-moving trucking operation.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable using technology, spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, scheduling tools, and communication systems to make the company run better.
The right person must be a strong leader, a strong communicator, and a strong problem solver.
About the Role
The Operations Systems Manager will be responsible for helping manage the full day-to-day operation under ownership.
This person will help oversee driver communication, safety follow-up, performance tracking, scheduling, dispatch coordination, recruiting support, documentation, and operational systems.
The goal of this role is not just to react to problems. The goal is to build better systems so problems are caught earlier, tracked properly, communicated clearly, and fixed faster.
This role requires someone who can lead drivers, manage accountability, improve processes, and use data to make better operational decisions.
Our Operating Priorities
This role must lead the operation in this order:
- Safety First
- Performance Second
- Scheduling and Work Execution Third
Covering the work matters, but it cannot come before safety, accountability, and company performance.
The goal is not just to fill routes. The goal is to run a safe, reliable, organized, data-driven, high-performing trucking operation.
Operations Systems & Process Improvement
This role is responsible for improving the systems that keep the company organized.
Responsibilities include:
- Building and improving daily operational tracking systems
- Maintaining schedules, driver availability trackers, attendance trackers, and performance dashboards
- Using Google Sheets, Excel, reports, and other tools to organize the operation
- Creating better workflows for scheduling, driver communication, safety follow-up, and performance tracking
- Identifying repeated problems and building systems to prevent them
- Helping create standard operating procedures for the team
- Making sure important issues do not get lost, forgotten, or handled without follow-up
- Turning messy operational problems into clear processes
- Helping ownership see what is happening in the business through clear reporting
The right person should be comfortable with technology and should enjoy making operations cleaner, faster, and more organized.
- Leadership & Driver Accountability
This is a leadership role. The person in this position must be able to lead people, not just manage tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading drivers with professionalism, structure, and consistency
- Communicating expectations clearly
- Holding drivers accountable for attendance, communication, safety, performance, and professionalism
- Addressing problems early before they become bigger issues
- Coaching drivers when needed
- Having direct conversations without avoiding conflict
- Building trust with drivers while still protecting the company
- Creating a culture of accountability, follow-up, and professional standards
- Working directly with ownership on driver issues, performance concerns, and operational improvements
We are looking for someone who can be firm, fair, and consistent.
A strong leader in this role does not wait for problems to become emergencies. They notice issues early, communicate clearly, and follow up until they are resolved.

- Monitoring driver safety concerns, unsafe behavior, accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Coaching drivers on safe driving habits, trip planning, fatigue management, and professional conduct
- Making sure unsafe decisions are not made just to cover work
- Documenting safety conversations, coaching, warnings, and corrective actions when needed
- Helping ownership reduce risk, prevent accidents, and protect the company
Safety should not be treated as paperwork. Safety must be built into the daily operation.
- Performance Management
After safety, performance is the second priority.
The Operations Systems Manager will help track and improve company performance through better reporting, communication, accountability, and follow-up.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring daily and weekly operational performance
- Tracking driver attendance, reliability, communication, route execution, and repeated issues

- Identifying weak points in the operation and creating action plans
- Communicating performance concerns clearly to ownership
- Coaching drivers before small problems become major issues
- Holding drivers and staff accountable in a professional and consistent way
- Helping protect the company's reputation with customers, partners, and drivers
This role requires someone who understands that performance does not improve by accident. It improves through clear expectations, tracking, follow-up, and accountability.
- Scheduling & Work Execution
Scheduling and execution are a major part of this role, but they must be handled with safety and performance in mind.
