Job description

We're looking for a full-time remote Technology Specialist who understands both how campaign and advocacy tech is actually used and how to make disparate systems talk to each other reliably and securely.

This role is responsible for connecting CRMs, databases, spreadsheets, and advocacy tools; automating real-world workflows; and ensuring data moves cleanly between systems that were often never designed to work together. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys untangling campaign-style tech stacks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations across civic, advocacy, and campaign technology tools.
  • Build automation and data pipelines using Zapier, JavaScript, and Google Apps Script.
  • Develop and manage integrations within Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, and WordPress website.
  • Connect CRMs, voter-adjacent data, organizing tools, and internal databases.
  • Translate organizing, fundraising, and advocacy workflows into technical solutions.
  • Test, monitor, and debug integrations to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Document systems and workflows so they are understandable to future staff and volunteers.
  • Apply strong security and privacy best practices, especially when working with sensitive political or advocacy data.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Zapier or similar automation platforms.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript for building and maintaining integrations.
  • Strong experience with Google Apps Script.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-based architectures.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing integrations between cloud-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, including access control and credential management.
  • Experience integrating or working with campaign and advocacy technology stacks.
  • Familiarity with how tools are used in practice, including:
  • Campaign CRMs
  • Voter file tools
  • Email and digital fundraising platforms
  • Peer-to-peer and broadcast texting tools
  • Phone banking systems
  • Digital advocacy and petition platforms
  • Experience working with Airtable and integrating it with other systems.
  • Experience integrating with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Prior work on political campaigns, ballot initiatives, advocacy organizations, or civic tech projects.

Who You Are

  • You've seen messy campaign data flows and know how to make them better.
  • You care about data integrity, automation, and building systems that organizers can trust.
  • You're comfortable working with non-technical staff.
  • You're motivated by mission, impact, and improving democratic systems through non-partisan reforms.

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000, depending on experience.
  • Health Coverage: $725/month towards Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
  • Unlimited PTO + 18 company wide shut down days.
  • Voluntary Benefits: 401K and disability insurance available.
