The Systems Administrator is responsible for the deployment, administration, and maintenance of enterprise systems in a Q-cleared environment, with a strong focus on Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure. This role supports classified operations by ensuring system availability, security compliance, and performance reliability.
This role requires an active DOE Q security clearance (or equivalent DoD TS).
Key Responsibilities
- Administers and maintains Nutanix HCI environments, including Nutanix AOS, AHV virtualization, and Prism Element/Prism Central;
- Deploys, configures, and maintains Windows and Linux servers;
- Performa system hardening in accordance with DISA STIGs and site security requirements;
- Monitors system health, performance, and capacity;
- Applies OS patches, firmware updates, and Nutanix upgrades;
- Supports backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes;
- Manages Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and authentication services;
- Troubleshoots system, storage, networking, and virtualization issues;
- Supports classified enclave operations and air-gapped systems;
- Collaborates with ISSOs to remediate vulnerabilities and support ATO activities;
- Maintains configuration documentation and system inventories; and

Requirements
Do you have a valid Nutanix Certified Professional - Multi-Cloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI) certification?, Do you have experience in System administration?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Active DOE Q security clearance (or equivalent DoD TS)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Five-plus (5+) years of systems administration experience in secure or classified environments
Preferred skills/qualifications
- Hands-on experience administering Nutanix HCI platforms or similar platforms
- Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in classified systems
- Experience implementing STIGs and resolving vulnerability findings
- Ability to work independently in a high-security environment
- Experience supporting classified networks (DOE, DoD, or IC)
- Familiarity with backup solutions, SAN/NAS concepts, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience supporting RMF-authorized systems
- Nutanix certifications (NCA, NCP, or higher) or similar

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, geographic location, and internal equity.
