Job description
In support of this effort, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the below listed activities. In this role, you will:
- Support the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance and upgrade of physical and virtual servers, storage systems and virtualization platforms
- Support the development, design, configuration/setup, test, maintenance and upgrade of the application hosting environment using virtualization application such as VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V or other applicable virtualization platform.
- Support the various business application development effort and roll out through implementation, configuration/setup, test, maintenance and upgrade various application testing and or production environments
- Implement or apply all applicable Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), industry best security and design practices, and implement all applicable Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) security requirements
- Perform a regular back up of VMs' Virtual Machine Disks (VMDK), and or any mounts used by VMs
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and administer an environment monitoring system or systems, to include the environment monitoring system's database server application and log collector if applicable
- Develop, maintain and submit to the Government Technical representative physical and logical network infrastructure diagrams
- Perform a regular but scheduled failover or Disaster Recovery (DR) test to check the environment's readiness in case of a failure or disaster.
- Perform regular patching or upgrade of all operating systems and or firmware.
- Troubleshoot and fix environment problems.
Requirements
- An active DoD Secret security clearance
- An up to date DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II and DoD 8140 Intermediate System Administrator baseline certification
- At least 1 current Operating System Certification from the list (all preferred): vMware Certified
- A Bachelors degree plus 2 years of revelant experience
- OR an Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience
- OR a High School Diploma with technical training related to Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related discipline plus 6 years of working knowledge and experience in IT particularly in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting virtualized environments with VMWare ESXi hypervisors, server blades, Windows Domain Controllers, Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, SQL Servers, Crystal Servers or IIS web servers
- Associate Data Center Virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate experience
- Working knowledge and experience with hardening systems
- Working knowledge and experience with ACAS, SCAP and HBSS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- The ability to travel up to 10%
Additional desired qualifications:
- RHEL certification and experience
- Working knowledge and experience with the RMF process
